Signing myself up for 10 days' retreat here was the best gift I offered myself in years.... Pure nourishment to my entire system (my body, my heart, my mind and my spirit all thanked me!). Shintai and Mayadevi are the most gracious and generous hosts who took care the smallest details all the way to the biggest spiritual enquiries, with grace, patience and finesse, to ensure that the experience offered me joy, ease and growth - all I had to do was simply lean into "being". Brilliant surroundings, brilliant food, brilliant silent excursions and walks, brilliant service, brilliant company, and above all two brilliant HEARTS. Thank you Shintai and Mayadevi. Loved it here, calm silence and space - no agenda, no belief systems - you're just gently encouraged to slow down and look within yourself.

There's opportunity to share here every day as well with Shintai and Mayadevi if you wish and they can provide you with insightful feedback.

Food is excellent.

Location is stunning - there are daily excursions (all optional) into Assisi and beautiful walks in the area if you want to head out on your own.

I spent 10 nights in May 2023 with Mayadevi and Shintai at their beautiful retreat center in the mountains of Assisi. From the moment I arrived their heartfelt warmth and generosity was evident. The space they provided was like a home away from home, where I got to breathe out, relax and settle into the silence of their beautiful retreat. The simplicity and depth of what they offered was exactly what I needed and I left feeling refreshed, restored and whole. Forever grateful for this life changing event. A simple joy is a pure joy. Mayadevi and Shintai welcomed me to their beautiful home for three nights. It was in this oasis, tagliata fuori dal mondo, that I rediscovered an inner calm. Through a very simple daily routine and a shared silence I began to rediscover a centredness that I'd lost touch with in this noisy world. My stay at Silentretreatcenter was really Nice.
Shintai and Mayadevi were really kind and we had a great silent time togehther.
The House is located with a beautiful view in the Umbrien mountians, close to Assisi.

We had some great meditation sessions and the  trekking routes were really fantastic.

I love the tranquillity and the rolling, beautiful hills of Umbria, long one of my favourite parts of Italy. The Silent Retreat Centre itself is simple but well considered and the people running it are open hearted and generous. I was not sure what to expect- but the Silent Retreat Center and lovely Mayadevi and Shintai definitely went far beyond my expectations. The house is set in a beautiful spot, the vegetarian food is not only tasty and healthy, but also beautiful. Shintai and Mayadevi are full of authenticity, who are more than capable of just letting you BE. Highly recommended to anyone who feels the world is just too much :)
